Klaus Haapaniemi, who designed the patterns, was born in Finland in 1970 and is an illustrator based in London. He has designed print designs for famous brands such as Levi's, Marimekko, and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as display designs for Selfridges department store. He is now considered "the most talented illustrator in Finland." Heikki Orvola, who designed the tableware, was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1943 and is one of the leading figures in the Finnish design world today.
