Antique Lacquerware Natural Wood Jubako (Tiered Food Box) Lacquer Finish Black Interior with Vermilion Round with Mallow Crest (Kamon) Five-Tiered Box with Two Lids Likely deadstock. Upon investigation, it appears to bear the mark of Manmo Shoten. It is quite old, probably dating back to the early Showa era. Kamon Explanation: The Round with Mallow Crest (Maru ni Mokko Mon) depicts the "Mokko Mon" (Mallow Crest) and surrounds it with a circle of normal thickness. Also known as "Round with Horizontal Mallow." Jubako (approx.): Width 235 x Depth 220 x Height 80 mm Height with lid: 90 mm Condition: The wooden box has some damage and soiling due to long-term storage. The divider of the top tier is detached. As shown in the photos, there are several places where the lacquer has peeled off at the corners of the jubako. There are minor scratches and soiling due to aging, but judging from the storage condition, it doesn't seem to have been used, and it appears to be deadstock. How about using it for your New Year's osechi cuisine? Compared to plastic jubako, your dishes will taste significantly better. Since it is an old item, it is offered at a low price.
