A set of three small, sometsuke (blue and white) plates of Ko-Imari (Old Imari ware) made from the Edo period to the Meiji period. These plates feature traditional landscape paintings known as "Sansuizu" (landscape paintings), depicting waterside buildings and trees using the sometsuke technique, which involves painting on white porcelain with blue pigment (gosu). They are decorated with Chinese poems and auspicious characters, expressing a scenic atmosphere. These were used daily as temezara (small plates), condiment dishes, and serving plates. Many were produced from the mid to late Edo period. Each one is hand-painted by artisans, and the unique brushstrokes and variations in the shade of blue are part of their charm. One of the three plates has a crack (nyu) (see image).
