Thank you for viewing. This is a Hagoromo (Feather Robe) doll by Genshu Haramai, an Intangible Cultural Property. Works by the first Genshu are quite difficult to obtain. The face, with layers of gofun (white pigment) applied, is very beautiful and powerful. This is a gorgeous wooden doll with a vermilion kimono and a phoenix crown. Perfect for New Year's celebrations, wishing for happiness and health, and other special occasions. Size: Approximately 20cm (including the crown) Width: Approximately 16cm It has been kept in a glass case with care, so it is in beautiful condition. There is a very small stain on the back of the left hand. Please check the images (Image 14). The wooden tag shows signs of aging (Images 9 and 10). This is an offering of the doll itself and the wooden tag. The stand is not included. I have cherished this doll, but I am offering it for sale to organize my collection.
