The gold parts are created using the excellent technique of chinkin, where the design is carved and then filled with gold, rather than being painted on the surface. Although difficult to see in the images, the border between the black and vermilion on the inside is intentionally blurred, creating a high-class feel. ■Although it is an unused, beautiful item, it has been stored at home.
