THE VINTAGE JACK - Endpin jack that allows for pickup installation on an acoustic guitar without modification. Material: Micarta. Brand new, unused. Photo 1 shows a separate unit I installed as a reference; the guitar is not for sale. Made in the USA, patent pending product, shop reference retail price around 30,000 yen. The diameter of a standard endpin jack is about 12mm, so for acoustic guitars, it's necessary to widen the endpin hole. This is useful if you don't want to modify the body hole, such as on expensive guitars or vintage instruments. (Photo 4 is a reference; the Martin endpin and 12mm jack are not for sale.) You can install the endpin jack with almost no modification, just by removing the endpin and replacing it. The output terminal is a 3.5mm mini-plug. Mini-plugs are common with wireless systems these days. (Photo 5: LEKATO mini-plug compatible wireless is a reference and not for sale.) Ideal for Martin guitars. The jack surround material is Micarta, making it perfect for models like the D-28 and above. The diameter of the Martin endpin hole is about 8mm, but THE VINTAGE JACK is 8.5mm. There's also a method of shaving and inserting it, but for those who want to install it without modification, I'll include 5mm thick felt. (Photo 6) Use rosin powder for slip resistance as needed. Standard conversion plug included. There are no original instructions, so I will explain the wiring. Two sets of cables are included, allowing you to install two pickups simultaneously. However, the balance will be off unless they are the same type, either passive or active. If you are installing one pickup, connect it to the cable marked "mono". The black wire is the ground wire and is optional. For reference, I installed an L.R.BAGGS iBeam Passive on a Martin D-28 (Photo 10, pickup not for sale). I soldered it to mono and didn't use the ground, but it's clear without noise. Also, it cannot be used with active types where the original jack is energized by a switch. I said it's ideal for Martin guitars, but you can get a beautiful, natural sound with passive pickups, so if you also prepare a preamp, you can get the best Martin sound. Thank you. #AcousticGuitar #AcousticGuitar #AcousticGuitarPickup
