This is a 2-sun (approx. 6 cm) apple-shaped "eji-ko" kokeshi doll by Yuuji Hasegawa, a kokeshi artist from Tsugaru. Size (approx.): Diameter: 5 cm Height: 6 cm When farmers worked, they used a woven straw basket called an "entsuko" or "ejiko" (baby basket) to watch over their babies. This is a cute kokeshi doll that resembles an apple. It has a strong presence despite its small size. Its vibrant red color and slightly surprised expression are characteristic. It seems there were other colors like yellow and green, but they are no longer in production. It is unused, but the original box has been discarded.
