Takamatsu Hariko, with a long history dating back to the Edo period. This traditional folk craft of Kagawa Prefecture, Shikoku, is made by pasting washi paper onto a mold. The artist is the third-generation Mikiko Miyauchi (with a signature). Miyauchi Hariko is a family and workshop that continues the tradition of Fusako Miyauchi, a Living National Treasure. Mikiko Miyauchi, the third generation, is the granddaughter of Fusako Miyauchi and continues to create these works. Mikiko's style is characterized by simple, warm, hand-painted expressions. Focusing on the zodiac sign of the Rat beside Daikoku-sama (please see the images). The Rat is a messenger of Daikokuten, said to bring good fortune in wealth and prosperity of descendants. The small Rat figurines are also cute, so please place them next to Daikokuten and cherish them.
