Multipass is a modular multi-band effects processor (modular FX) developed by KiloHearts. KiloHearts products are characterized by their (seemingly toy-like) ultra-simple interface, which the company is particular about, and the high quality and unwavering sound quality behind it. In addition to these, Multipass is a very versatile FX tool with many features unique to modular systems. (KiloHearts' flagship product, alongside their super synth: Phase Plant.) Multipass is a framework tool for the "Snapin series plugins" (which also function as modules) that KiloHearts has developed in large numbers. It functions as an outer frame (host for Snapins) for incorporating and using Snapin plugins (modules). And, the biggest feature of Multipass is that it functions in multi-band. KiloHearts Multipass has a band splitter that divides audio into several different frequency bands, allowing each band to be split and processed independently. It then delegates the actual processing of the bands to other single-purpose plugins (known as Snapins). There are various types of Snapins, implementing not only many classic effects such as distortion and chorus, but also unique effects such as formant filtering and frequency shifting. By combining simple Snapin plugins (modules) within Multipass, you can create complex effects. (In addition to being loadable into Multipass, Snapins can also be loaded directly into your DAW as plugins.) Multipass comes pre-bundled with several different Snapin plugins. You can also add more by purchasing them separately.
