This is a style where a pincushion is placed on a wooden base, and spools of thread are set up by inserting round rods into three round holes. Base: 2.1cm thick, 10x16cm, with semicircular sides. Pincushion: A 5cm diameter, 5mm deep hole is carved into the base, and a pincushion made of cotton covered with fabric is attached. Thread Stand Rods: 6mm in diameter, 4cm long, 3cm above the base. A hole is made near the center for a marking pen, etc. Weight: 194g The base material is solid keyaki (Japanese zelkova) wood. Keyaki has beautiful grain, is hard and strong, and is excellent in durability and rot resistance. It is expensive, but it is an excellent wood that is worth the value. The whole is coated with a wood preservative containing anti-corrosion, insect repellent, and anti-mold agents, and linseed oil, and finished with acrylic silicone spray for waterproofing and surface protection. Since each one is made by hand using home electric tools and handwork, there may be some burrs and scorch marks on the cross-section of the base, the holes may be slightly misaligned, and the handmade feel of an amateur may be visible in various places.
