Fushimi Inari-taisha, affectionately known as "O-Inari-san," is the head shrine of approximately 30,000 Inari shrines across the country. Its history predates the Heian capital relocation, with its founding said to be in the year Wado 4 (711). It is believed to grant blessings for business prosperity and household safety, and is bustling with many worshippers throughout the year.
