This is an old tsumugi (pongee silk). It has a pattern of red roses on a black background, and the red is a subdued color, so it doesn't appear harsh. Because it's black, there are some light, whitish stains, but there don't seem to be any major stains or tears. The lining has many stains. There are stains on the hakake (lining of the lower part of the kimono). It seems there are many wrinkles overall, perhaps due to poor storage. I think it's a sturdy fabric, even for remaking. Please consider that this is an old item, an antique, and may have some scratches or stains. I cannot confirm and report 100% of the minor imperfections of the old fabric.
