Night of the Living Dead Night of the Living Dead Dubbed VHS Horror Video A masterpiece and the origin of zombie films, this is the feature film debut by horror film master George A. Romero in 1968, which had a great influence on later generations. It depicts the destruction of people who prioritize their own positions and act selfishly in order to survive the attacking hordes of the dead. Barbara and her brother Johnny, who came to visit their father's grave, are suddenly attacked by a reanimated corpse = a zombie. Johnny is sacrificed while resisting, and Barbara flees to a nearby house, overwhelmed by fear and sorrow. Barbara, along with other evacuees, barricades herself in the house, but without being able to contact the outside world, the house is surrounded by a horde of zombies. However, opinions gradually diverge among the evacuees on whether to attempt an escape or wait for rescue. This film established the definition of zombies that would be carried over to the many similar films produced later, such as eating human flesh, the transformation of those eaten into zombies, and the only way to kill them is to destroy their brains.
