It says it can be hand-washed, so I hand-washed it with a detergent for delicate clothes. I don't see any scratches or stains, but I couldn't remove the pills and small debris that got caught in the Velcro and fabric. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about this. The Velcro works fine. The total length is about 80cm. I think it's suitable for people with a waist size of 70-75cm.
