It is a tribal rug from the Ersari tribe, a Turkmen sub-group residing in northern Afghanistan. Its long, narrow size makes it suitable for hallways or beside beds, serving as a solid accent rug. As a 50-year-old vintage rug, it shows some signs of wear, with occasional white cotton weft threads visible, but this is not a problem.
