Two out of the four pieces are unused, but I washed all of them due to the long storage period. They may appear yellowish or dark in the images, but the actual color is a bright light green and very cute. The fabric is thick, 100% cotton and quite sturdy. Up close, it's a light green and white ribbed fabric, and the fabric itself is also cute. Of course, they can be used as placemats, but they can also be used as an accent on top of cabinets or chests. One piece has a stain. There are fold wrinkles and storage wrinkles.
