Using backlighting effectively in portrait or cosplay photography can result in stunning work. Natural light is best, rather than a strobe. For full-body coverage, you'll want a reflector that's at least 1 meter in size. White and silver reflectors are useful. Use white on sunny days, and silver on cloudy or darker days. It's large, but bulky. The 39cm size folds up small and is convenient. I remember it cost over 10,000 yen. I'm selling the one I stored away.
