This is a vermilion lacquered square tray. It's not perfectly square, but slightly curved. As it's an old item that has been used, there are many chips, peeling, and scratches. Even so, I think it has a lot of charm that you can't get from new, clean products. I feel a sense of beauty akin to "beauty of use" advocated by Soetsu Yanagi.
