[Material] Fuji Hinoki single board ✩ One corner is beveled for easy lifting. [Good Points] ✩ We believe that a [unpainted] cutting board is the best, so the surface is hand-planed to achieve this. The chamfered parts are also finished using well-sharpened blades. First, it is planed, then wetted with water to raise the fibers, and then planed again after drying, so the fibers are minimized when wet during use. Also, the end grain, which is usually difficult to plane, is also planed. This allows water to drain in the shortest amount of time without containing fibers or sanding scratches, minimizing the deterioration of the wood due to water absorption. ✩ We predict the direction in which the wood will warp and consider the blade contact, and we slightly shape it into an R shape to match the individuality of the wood. This is also a technique that can only be done by hand planing. ✩ We do not use [sandpaper] at all in the production of the cutting board, so there is no worry about the remaining abrasive particles damaging the knife or eating the sanding powder. ✩ The rough sandpaper finish that is often seen recently looks smooth at first glance, but it becomes slippery when wet.
