Purchased in 2013 Used once for international travel. Checked to see if it still works before listing. Can also be used in Japan. How about placing it on a small desk? Personally, I think it wouldn't get in the way on a company desk or a bedside table in a hospital. It worked. It boiled properly. Please use the appropriate plug adapter for the country when traveling abroad. Please read and understand the instruction manual before purchasing.
