I believe I've used this about 3-4 times (not used in bad weather). Since it's been used outdoors, there might be some grass or leaves attached. There are no tears, but I think it might have a slight campfire smell. I like the smell of campfires, so I don't mind, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. I think it's a beautiful item with no noticeable stains, but I've marked it as "slightly scratched or stained" because it's been used outdoors. It's a great deal as all the poles are included.
