Thank you for viewing. A child put the beads in during a soroban making experience, but the finishing touches were done by a craftsman from Banshu. It was made about 10 years ago. I haven't studied soroban. I've only occasionally flicked the beads, and it has been stored at home for a long time since then. Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture, is a nationally famous production area for soroban, known as "Banshu Soroban." It is highly regarded not only as a tool for arithmetic but also as a traditional craft. The soroban, assembled with delicate traditional techniques, is easy to use, has excellent bead-flicking, and possesses a polished beauty, making it a work of art made of wood.
