This is a Mebaru (Rockfish) bottom fishing rig. Some have been used and are missing pieces. These are for bait fishing, using Isome (Japanese lugworm) and Ikanago (sand lance) as bait. The fine rigs work well for Mebaru, and when the current slowed down, it was easier to catch Kijihata (Epinephelus akaara, a type of grouper), so I would increase the line size as the fine rigs would get cut. I enjoyed this back-and-forth. I used these mostly on pleasure boats. There's a considerable amount, so you can use them even in areas with frequent snags. Comments are welcome.
