In Indian mythology, Gandharvas are a group of semi-divine musicians who serve Indra (Shakradev) or Soma, and are responsible for playing beautiful music in the palaces of many gods. It is believed that they were cherished and enshrined in temples and other places where many gods resided. Despite some wear and tear from the passage of time, this is a very beautiful Buddha statue with a strong presence. The base also features detailed depictions of animals and plants. A similar item, slightly smaller than this one, appeared at a 2012 Sotheby's auction and was sold for over $5,000. I would like to sell this to someone who understands its value. Price is negotiable.
