The brand started when Moses Phillips and his family began making handmade shirts. Initially, they were made for local coal miners, but later became popular and expanded their business to New York. After that, Van Heusen, a Dutch immigrant, obtained a patent for a sewing technique that could create a beautiful collar shape even without a collar core, and Moses Phillips and Van Heusen established PVH Corp.
