The 9th series of modern art features Yukinosuke Oka's "Snowy Power Plant" and Yukihiko Yasuda's "Spring in Asuka: Empress Nukata." Yukinosuke Oka (1904-1978) studied modern painting in France. "Snowy Power Plant" is one of his representative works, said to have been born from the matching of a power plant and his image during a trip to the snowy Shiga Kogen. Yukihiko Yasuda (1884-1978) created many masterpieces of Japanese painting and received the Order of Culture (1948). "Spring in Asuka: Empress Nukata" is one of his representative works, depicting the Manyoshu poet Empress Nukata in the foreground, with the temples of Asuka and the mountains of Yamato in the background.
