I purchased this deadstock item new from a store in January 2025 and used it approximately 10 times over the course of nearly a year. I haven't taken it to the surf or rocks, so it hasn't been exposed to saltwater or sand. After each use, I performed basic maintenance on the same day, so the drive system is in perfect working order. However, there are inevitably some scratches from use and from being set down, so please check the condition in the photos. The most noticeable is on the rotor in the fifth photo. Also, to avoid any issues, I'll be upfront and say there are also small scratches on the bail (photo 8). However, these are located away from the line roller, so there are no problems with use, and I have never experienced a line break even when using PE 1.0 line. If you are concerned, you could address this with water sanding, etc., after purchase.
