It newly adopts RØDE's HELIX™ isolation mount, which stably holds the microphone body while efficiently cutting noise from the camera or mounting location. Compared to the previous shock mount, it's smaller and lighter, making it easier to handle. In addition to the 3.5mm TRS analog output for on-camera use, it also has a USB-C port for digital output, allowing it to be used as a USB microphone* by connecting to mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, or to a PC. When connected via the USB-C port, you can record using various RØDE apps, and also change settings such as input gain, pad, and high-pass filter. In windy environments, using the optional WS12 windshield can reduce wind noise while also mitigating muffled sound with HF boost. When using the USB-C output, you can monitor the microphone audio (can be toggled on/off in the app) and listen to audio output from the connected device via the 3.5mm TRS port.
