"Vertigo," (spatial disorientation), the name was given because of the way one gets lost in playing during the pickup test phase, forgetting about time. The tone is a realization of a vintage Stratocaster's low-gain, moderate range, and a light drive that clings to the wound strings around the 12th fret. Like Fender vintage Stratocasters, these pickups use S-pole top, CW winding, and Alnico 5 magnets, with a meticulous winding process of 4 patterns, wound approximately 1000 turns. Regarding the tone, it's generally bright, with a wide range from low to high frequencies. The neck pickup has a low-frequency bias, with a strong compression feel, especially around the 12th fret. When playing single notes with a moderate amount of distortion, a pleasant blues feel can be felt. The middle pickup has a good balance, and is suitable for cutting, and the low frequencies are suppressed compared to the neck pickup, making it usable as an all-rounder. The bridge pickup has a high-frequency bias. It pairs well with overdrive, and the sound cuts through well even during riff playing. All positions have the same polarity and winding direction, so hum cancellation does not work in the half-tone positions. Instead, the sound seems to come forward in the half-tone positions, resulting in a more present tone. Compared to the 1961 "Glory Days" that we have offered with Tourus, it is slightly brighter, with a wider range and a bit more power. The same impression is obtained when compared to my reference, the Custom Shop '60. If you are considering vintage-style pickups, we encourage you to try these before trying more expensive pickups. *Since these are new pickups, aging for about 1-2 hours is required after replacement.
