I made a camisole by deconstructing an antique kimono. There were signs of wear, but it was a beautiful kimono without any noticeable stains or damage. (Photos 16, 17) Since the kimono was light-colored, I quickly hand-washed it with a detergent specifically for delicate clothing as a precaution. After it was finished, I found a small stain on the back (center of photo 15). Please check it. Therefore, I have priced it lower than others. It is woven in a cream color with a dark beige dotted pattern. Yellow and green accent colors create a refreshing geometric design. It was a single-layered kimono, so I thought it was for summer, but white-based clothing is also lovely this time of year. The textured weave feels rough, but the fabric itself is very supple. To prevent the overall shape from appearing bulky, I used thin elastic only in the back yoke to create a clean silhouette. Kimono made of silk is very precious. Deconstructing a kimono is difficult, but it's wonderful to be able to experience the feel of Japanese fabric in everyday life. It's also great to enjoy the unique colors and combinations that are characteristic of Japan. I enjoy making Western clothes as a hobby, specializing in straight stitching. I remake old kimonos like tsumugi, meisen, and komon, as well as furoshiki (wrapping cloths). Since it's handmade by an amateur, there may be thread holes, remaining threads, small scratches, and creases that won't come out even with ironing.
