Thank you for viewing. This is an antique silk gauze kimono. The soft, flowing black silk gauze features an abstract wave pattern with woven Western sailing ships and seagulls. The sailing ship parts are see-through when worn (image 10). You can see the white of the undergarment. I purchased it from an antique kimono shop. I think it's a rare pattern, very characteristic of antique kimonos. I love collecting antique kimonos and obi, especially those with bird and rose patterns, but I haven't had the opportunity to wear them, so I've decided to let this one go as part of a decluttering effort. ◆Condition There are no noticeable stains or damage, and I think it's in very good condition for an antique summer kimono. There is some slight soiling on the collar lining. As it is an antique kimono, there may be minor stains or soiling. I think those accustomed to antiques will be able to wear it without any problems. There are creases from storage. The condition is listed as "slightly damaged or stained" due to the age of the item. Please check the images and make your own judgment, as individual perceptions of wear may vary.
