Mr. Kimiyoshi Noda was a senior disciple of Mr. Rokutaro Nakade and a prominent figure in the Nakade school. Due to the small number of guitars he produced, only 4-5 per month, and their exclusive sale in Tokyo, they are rare and valuable guitars. Guitar enthusiasts who have encountered Mr. Noda's work are invariably moved by its excellence, and find it surprising that Noda guitars are not more widely known. The guitar for sale was made in 1978, shortly after Mr. Noda became independent from his teacher, Mr. Rokutaro. It is a work with a 1970s label, and it is believed to be equivalent to the Standard type 1000-1200 of the guitars with the newer labels from 1980 onwards. Furthermore, it seems that from 1980, the label design was updated, and the types of guitars produced were categorized into four types: 1000-1200 Standard, 1500-2000 Concert, 3000-4000 Professor, and 5000DX Pro. The Professor and higher models were made to order. The top of the guitar for sale appears to be a solid spruce top with tight grain, the sides and back are solid rosewood with beautiful straight grain in a deep brown color, the neck is made of hard, tight mahogany, the fingerboard is ebony with a jet-black color, and the bridge appears to be rosewood with a deep brown straight grain. Mr. Noda always expresses his beliefs in his guitar making as follows: "The struggle with sound begins with the careful selection of materials. I never know when it will end. The finishing method differs depending on the material, its length, height, and thickness. The sound changes with even a spoonful of shavings or a single sheet of plane shavings. The distance of sound is near and far. I will do my best today."
