This is a beautiful formal kimono (tsukesage) with a hand-painted design of what appears to be a type of flower, perhaps a "shiroi hana" (white flower), on a deep blue background that isn't quite navy. The fabric is made of high-quality silk, giving it a smooth drape and a nice weight. The collar is designed to be folded by pulling the threads. Measurements: Length: 157cm Sleeve Length: 48cm Sleeve Width: 34cm Front Width: 23cm Back Width: 30cm There is a slight discoloration under the leaves of the flower on the "okumi" (front panel) (衽). There are also faint stains on the inside of the collar (photos 5 and 6). The kimono has been folded in a "tatou-gami" (paper wrapping) for a long time, so there are wrinkles on the sleeves and the center back. Wrinkles may also occur during shipping due to folding.
