I don't think there's any unpleasant smell, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. Image 2 is closest to the actual color. It is 65% acrylic and 35% ramie. When I touched it with the back of my hand, I didn't feel any prickliness. It is soft, smooth, and suitable for spring and summer. I will compress it to fit a 60 or 80 size box for shipping, so please be aware of potential creasing of the labels and disruption of the winding.
