I found it easier to handle than silk Oshima Tsumugi for my own kimono remakes, and I was hooked for a while, collecting it at antique markets and the like. At the time, it wasn't readily available, and even if I found it, it was as expensive as silk, or even more so. Because it's woven, you can use it without worrying about the front or back. The fabric is thin and supple, but also sturdy. There may be thread skips, small holes, stains, discoloration, etc. Please use the good parts for your handmade projects.
