This is a set of a red chanchanko (vest) and hat, traditionally worn to celebrate a person's 60th birthday (kanreki). It was custom-made in the 1970s and the material feels like silk. A gold embroidered crest is sewn on the back (see page 4). Please refer to the photos on page 2 for the size. Please note that measurements are approximate due to being taken by an amateur. The cotton padding is fluffy and feels nice, but the white lining has yellowed slightly due to long-term storage. The grandfather who wore this for his celebration lived a long and healthy life, exceeding 90 years old, so it is considered an auspicious item.
