I purchased this at a specialty umbrella shop that used to be in Omotesando. I believe the shop was called miu, and a lovely woman handled imported umbrellas from Europe there. They carried only very high-end items, like incredibly beautiful parasols that you wouldn't even see at department stores or Wako. I've parted with my lace parasols, and this is the last item I purchased from that shop. It's a smart umbrella from FOX Umbrellas of England, with a handle made of decorated horn. The color variations are natural, as they were originally, but it's smoothly finished and has a slightly cool feel. I've forgotten the type of wood that connects to the handle, but it has a truly beautiful curve and is made of quality materials. It was extremely expensive. I bought it as a vintage, unused item. The tassel is also original. It's an umbrella that exudes an elegance you don't find anymore. FOX umbrellas often have loose securing bands, but I didn't want it to spread out, so I stored it wrapped twice, anticipating it might stretch. Please be aware of that. I cherished it so much that I only used it about twice for special occasions, like jewelry exhibitions. There are no particular issues. There might be very minor scratches from use, but I don't think you'll find another one like this. I'm selling it to organize my belongings. I think it's in very good condition.
