The plates have a crisp, bellflower-shaped rim, and the traditional Japanese pattern of Seigaiha (blue ocean waves) is arranged in a more detailed sometsuke (blue and white) design. The Seigaiha pattern is hand-painted densely within a wide band covering the entire rising edge, and despite the cool color scheme, it gives a very voluminous impression ^_^. The jade-colored accents and the bellflower rim create a dynamic scene. There is a single flower pattern in the center of the plate. It does a great job of tightening the overall design. Decorative lines are painted in sometsuke on the inside and outside of the foot. This is a high-quality item with careful handwork in the details. The size is approximately 16.7 cm in diameter and approximately 3 cm in height. Suitable as individual plates or serving plates. They have a moderate depth, so they can also be used for dishes with sauce. As they are items with a strong presence, they are also wonderful as Mukouzuke (flat serving dishes) for serving sashimi, etc. I am selling the unused portion of a set I purchased for a banquet at my parents' house a long time ago. Some of them were sold here before. I also want to use them at home, but I decided to sell them. They were carefully stored in a tea box, so they are unused and in beautiful condition! Kazangama items with the hand-painted mark "Kazanzan'emon" are basically high-grade items that are entirely hand-painted. I was told that the number of hand-painting craftsmen, who were about 200 at their peak, has now decreased to about 1/10, and such items cannot be made now. I was told by the kiln owner more than 7 years ago that the current price was around 50,000 yen, and I think it is now considerably more expensive than that.
