He is highly regarded not only as a pianist but also as a composer and arranger, and has served as music director for numerous concerts and TV programs. He was active as an original member of PONTA BOX with Shuichi "Ponta" Murakami. He performed at jazz festivals, including the "Montreux Jazz Festival" in 1995. His regular appearances on Fuji TV's "News JAPAN" solidified his position as a leading Japanese pianist.
