I heard that it was placed in a Kyoto machiya in the late Edo period or early Meiji period and had been kept as a guardian deity of the machiya for about 100 years. In the Showa era, it finished its role due to the renovation or demolition of the machiya, and since then, it has been stored in a storehouse until now. This Shoki-sama was placed on the roof for about 100 years, and you can feel the patina created by the passage of time, which has a refined taste that new ones don't have.
