Approximately 35 years ago, I purchased this Chinese Dantong high-quality rug doormat (versatile use) from a department store. I believe it's in beautiful condition as it was only placed in the entryway after being purchased new. There are no noticeable scratches or stains, but there are variations in the length of the fringe. (Please check the 4th and 5th images.) There is one inconspicuous missing tuft. (Please check the 8th image.) I wanted to continue using it, but I'm selling it due to changes in my housing situation. I think it's an exquisite piece, easy to use in terms of size, color, and design, and it complements various styles, both Japanese and Western, creating a subtle presence. Dantong (緞通) comes from the Chinese word 毯子 (dantong), which means rug. The technique for making Persian rugs, which originated in Persia (present-day Iran), traveled along the Silk Road about 3,000 years ago to India and China, and the Chinese Dantong is a product of its unique processing. The construction method of tying thick pile yarn to the ground warp and cutting each one while folding it is the same as Persian rugs, but Chinese Dantong is thicker and features embossed processing that makes the design appear to stand out. While Persian rugs have clear color contrasts, Chinese Dantong uses softer colors, which is also its charm. It has been loved for a long time as a high-quality rug, and it is a masterpiece that enriches the lives of its users.
