This is a ceramic chicken-shaped salt and pepper shaker that was exported to Europe and America during the Showa era. (It says "Japan" on the belly, as it was for export.) I purchased it from an antique shop about 30 years ago and have kept it unused. There are some minor scratches and dirt, but I think it's in good condition for an antique. It's about 6cm long and 8.5cm tall. (There's a photo with a single AA battery for size reference.
