Miyagi traditional Kokeshi -Naruko Kokeshi- This kokeshi was made from the Tsubaki (Camellia japonica). The tsubaki is the material which is the best for the materials of the kokeshi with good beauty and color and feel of the grain of wood. However, it is the materials in which acquisition is difficult. Therefore it is very valuable and expensive. "Osamu Sugawara" was born in 1952. Grand master is "Tastuo Oishi", "Mamoru Kawamura".
