Keishun Gama is a kiln specializing in Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki, traditional crafts of Kyoto. Currently presided over by Mr. Keishun Kato (Takanobu Kato), the workshop is located near Sennyu-ji Temple in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto. Features of Keishun Gama: The works of Keishun Gama are characterized by delicate hand-painted designs on earthenware, known as "tsuchimono." Traditional Techniques: Based on over 60 years of experience in pottery, they create warm, Kyoto-style works. Design: Designs that add playfulness to tradition are popular, such as rice bowls with gourd attachments and large plates with indigo octopus arabesque patterns. Awards: Highly regarded for their technical skill, they have received awards such as the Kyoto Prefectural Governor's Award and the Kyoto City Mayor's Award at the Seiyo-kai Pottery Exhibition. They produce a wide range of pottery, from everyday use to gifts. Rice bowls and mugs: Rice bowl sets with gourd attachments and hand-painted mugs are popular as gifts. Sake vessels and serving bowls: Often handled by sake specialty stores and craft shops, they offer a variety of vessels with dyed and colored designs. Unused, but has been stored for a long time. I believe it is a flower vase, but the water-holding part feels shallow, so I am not certain. I hope you will use it as you like, not just as a flower vase.
