This is the Yasuhiko Shimizu model from Yamaha's signature series. It's only available at Central Gakki, so I think it's rarely seen. It's only been test-played, so it's in almost-new, pristine condition with virtually no scratches. The following is a quote: The mouthpiece of Mr. Yasuhiko Shimizu, who is active in various genres including big bands, jazz bands, and studio work, is highly acclaimed by many trumpet players. The carefully considered, exquisite specifications include a throat diameter of 3.6mm, which is almost in the middle of the usual No. 27 (3.66mm) and No. 28 (3.56mm) often used for jazz. This allows for smooth airflow and a comfortable playing feel. The throat length is slightly longer than the usual "YAMAHA" or "V.BACH," providing a moderate resistance and making the high register easier to stabilize. Furthermore, by adding a "hollow" (shaving) around 2mm from the edge inside the cup, it alleviates the cup wall from hindering the vibration of the lips when blowing with all your might. The backbore adopts a slightly narrower taper with a slow, gentle onset, making the sound easier to control and adjusting to prevent sound thinning or excessive resistance. The rim and cup inner are finished with gold plating, providing a comfortable feel, good response, smooth playing feel, and a more refined sound. This mouthpiece is suitable for big bands, as well as concert bands and marching bands, and is easy to handle in the high register without being too bright.
