This is a Wajima-nuri lidded bowl. It features raised gold maki-e on the inside bottom and the underside of the lid, making it one of the highest-grade pieces of Wajima-nuri. It comes from an old, established local family. Four bowls have small chips on the rim, one has significant lacquer peeling on the top of the lid, and one has a small chip on the lid. There are also some minor scratches on the rims of others, but otherwise, there are no noticeable cracks or chips. The crucial gold maki-e portions are in perfect condition.
