【Yanagidani Kannon / Yōkoku-ji Temple】 Commonly known as Yanagidani Kannon. Yōkoku-ji Temple is a temple of the Nishiyama Jōdo sect located in Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture. In recent years, it has also been known as the temple of hydrangeas. It is the 17th temple of the New Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage. The 17th of every month is the Ennichi (temple market day). As a place of prayer for the recovery of eye diseases, it has been revered by people suffering from eye diseases since the Heian period, including the Imperial family and court nobles.
