I believe this is an unused item, but there are small scratches on the ink well and a small chip on the corner. Please check the condition from the photos. The original box is not available, so it will be packed in this box as it was when it was sold. There is some damage and dirt due to aging, but I will carefully wrap it in cloth. "Gakusei Saku" is carved on the back of the inkstone. This inkstone was made by Hideo Takahashi, a traditional craftsman. I believe he was the number one craftsman in the history of Ogatsu. The entire ink well and ink surface of the inkstone have a beautiful, sparkling reflection. This inkstone has a deep ink well, allowing you to use a generous amount of ink. It is suitable for kana (up to full-size paper), kanji (up to full-size paper), and ink painting. If you grind ink on it, you will understand the quality of a Japanese inkstone.
