Type...Pottery...Sake Vessel...Goblet...Tsuboya-yaki This is a Tsuboya-yaki goblet by Jiro Kinjo, the first Living National Treasure of Okinawa, with a wooden box. It is a Tsuboya-yaki fish and floral pattern goblet. Because of the laughing fish (shougyo) and floral patterns, there are very few similar items! The carving is strong and clear, and I believe it is a masterpiece from its prime. The expressions of the two laughing fish are wonderful! The colors of the blue glaze and yellowish-brown glaze are also very good. Size: Height approximately 9.5 cm, Width approximately 8.4 cm. Please allow for some error. Mint condition. Probably unused.
