The remaining three pieces are (probably) unused and still wrapped in paper inside the box. These are sturdy, thick rice bowls, and they come with matching patterned plates. The plates can be used side-by-side for serving sweets, or as saucers for the rice bowls. They are large enough to hold several Japanese sweets, and can also be used as individual plates for Japanese cuisine.
